The Grove was built by people who believe wellness should feel approachable, consistent, and part of real life — and the team you'll meet here reflects that, every day.
At The Grove, you are invited to step away from the rush of everyday life and into a sanctuary created with love and intention. Here, wellness isn't a quick fix — it is a gentle embrace, a way to feel rooted, nourished, and renewed.
Surrounded by trees and wetlands, our space feels like a quiet oasis where you can breathe deeply and simply be. Practitioners from many paths — massage therapists, yogis, counselors, trainers, intuitivists — come together with open hearts to share their gifts. Each offering is unique, yet together we weave a circle of care, support, and belonging.
The Grove is where your body, mind, and spirit are honored, and where you are always welcomed as family.

For more than 20 years, I’ve had the privilege of helping people move better, hurt less, and rediscover what their bodies are capable of. But somewhere along the way, I realized something important: healing was never meant to address only one part of us.
My career began in occupational therapy, working in an outpatient setting with patients experiencing a wide range of diagnoses and physical limitations. Early in my career, I had the opportunity to shadow a therapist who incorporated massage and trigger point therapy while working with stroke patients. I watched patients with significant upper-extremity impairment make remarkable gains in movement and function through hands-on treatment.
It changed the trajectory of my career.
I wanted to understand more, so I went back to school to study massage therapy, became licensed in Ohio, and opened my own practice.
At the same time, I began what would become a 20-year career with Aultman Hospital. I worked throughout acute care, rehabilitation, outpatient therapy, and mental health services, caring for people during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives.
Relieving pain and restoring function became my passion. Helping people reclaim pieces of their lives became my mission.
But those years also taught me something else.
Healthcare can be incredibly good at treating an immediate problem, yet the realities of insurance requirements, productivity expectations, time constraints, and defined treatment protocols can make it difficult to address the whole person standing in front of us.
I saw people who needed more than a treatment protocol.
They needed time. They needed education. They needed someone to listen. They needed connection.
And they needed to understand that their bodies were often capable of far more than they believed.
“I’m just getting old.”
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard those words.
As my career evolved, I left the hospital setting and continued working with clients through massage therapy, including time working alongside chiropractic care. I became increasingly fascinated by what could happen when hands-on soft-tissue work and trigger point therapy were combined with stretching, corrective exercise, movement, and consistent self-care.
Clients who arrived discouraged by pain began moving differently. Range of motion improved. Movement became easier. People who had accepted limitations as an inevitable part of aging began discovering that some of those limitations could change.
And I realized that bodywork shouldn’t end when someone gets off the table.
What happens between appointments matters.
Teaching someone how their body works—how to move it, strengthen it, care for it, and recognize its signals—can give them an active role in their own wellness.
That realization planted the first seed for The Grove.
I dreamed of creating a place where someone could receive therapeutic bodywork and also have a space to learn corrective movement, build strength, improve mobility, and develop the tools to care for their body outside of a treatment room.
I thought I had finally figured it out.
But something was still missing.
The Body Keeps More Than Physical Tension
When you spend enough time caring for people, they share their stories with you.
They talk about their families. Their work. Their grief. Their fear. Their stress. Their relationships. The things they’re carrying that no one else can see.
Over the years, I began to recognize that the pain someone brought into my treatment room didn’t always have a purely physical story.
Stress affects the body. Trauma affects the body. Emotional well-being affects the body.
And human connection matters.
In a world that has become increasingly fast, automated, and disconnected, I believe compassionate human touch and genuine connection are more important than ever.
That was the missing piece.
Body. Mind. Spirit.
Not three separate parts of wellness, but three parts of one person.
And suddenly, the vision I had carried for years made sense.
The Grove 🌿
The Grove was created to be more than a place to exercise or receive a service.
It is the culmination of everything my career has taught me about caring for people.
A place for therapeutic bodywork.
A place to build strength and restore movement.
A place to slow down.
A place to learn.
A place to connect.
And most importantly, a community where people feel seen, supported, and encouraged to participate in their own well-being.
I believe God has blessed me with the ability to do this work, and creating The Grove is my way of honoring that calling.
My hope is that when you walk through our doors, you don’t simply find a service.
You find a place that helps you reconnect with your body, quiet your mind, strengthen your spirit, and discover just how capable you still are.
Welcome to The Grove.

Mary has practiced breathwork for 17 years and facilitated for 13, with the past 3.5 years devoted to conscious circular breathing. She holds a PhD in Sociology with a concentration in social psychology and a focus on stress resilience, and has been a Reiki Master Teacher since 2009.
Her breathwork sessions blend an understanding of the nervous system and neuroplasticity with a deep respect for the fact that every person—and every session—is different. Some people experience profound emotional release or personal breakthroughs. Others find pain relief, deep relaxation, expanded states of consciousness, or connection to their intuition or psychic gifts. Many simply walk away saying, “I feel lighter.”
Mary believes one of the most powerful things about breathwork is its accessibility: you don’t have to look outside yourself for healing. The breath is the healer. YOU are the healer.
Outside the studio, Mary is a girl mom, German Shepherd mom, tour wife, and lifelong lover of movement—from yoga and Pilates to lifting weights and HIIT training.
